Sitseillä tarkoitetaan akateemista pöytäjuhlaa, jonka aikana opiskelijat
kokoontuvat pöytien ääreen juomaan, syömään, tutustumaan uusiin ihmisiin
sekä yleisesti pitämään hauskaa.  Pukukoodina sitseillä on pukeutuminen
kulloinkin valitun teeman mukaan. (Esimerkiksi 30.1 pidettävillä
haalarinkorkkaussitseillä pukukoodina on opiskelijahaalarit + eläintarha.)
Illan ohjelmaan kuuluu yksinkertaisuudessaan juominen, syöminen, seurustelu
ja etenkin juomalaulujen laulaminen. Tarkempi ohjelma vaihtelee kerroittain
sen mukaan, mitä sitsejä johtamaan valitut toastmasterit ovat sitsaajien
päänmenoksi suunnitelleet. Sitseille on määrätty sääntöjä, joiden
noudattamatta jättämisestä toastmasterit voivat antaa harkintansa mukaisen
leikkimielisen rangaistuksen. Sitsisäännöt löytyvät sitsien aluksi
jaettavista sitsivihoista.
Sitsien ohjelma pidetään yleensä suomeksi, joitakin lauluja lukuunottamatta.


Sitsit/sitsfest is an academic table party, during which students gather
together to drink, eat, meet new people and mainly: to have fun. The
dresscode for the event is to dress according to the theme presented each
time. (For example the dresscode for the "overall deflowering sitsfest"
held on 30.1 is student overalls + zoo.)
When put simply, the night consists of drinking, eating, sosializing and
especially of singing different drinking songs together. The spesific
details for the event vary a lot depending on what the toastmasters (people
appointted to direct and be in charge of the night) have decided. There are
rules for the Sitsfest, ignoring of which will/may lead to a playfull
punishment given by the toastmasters. The rules will be found in booklets
that are given to the participants in the beginning of the event.
The programme for the sitsfest is usually held in finnish, with the
exception of a few songs.
