Dear Potku users,

I will organize next week a short user tutorial / webinar for the users where Potku features (first on the slab analysis side) will be shown with examples. Full analysis procedure will be gone through.

Time is 2021 January 28th, 13:00-15:00 CET (14:00-16:00 Finnish, Helsinki time).
and the platform is: https://jyufi.zoom.us/j/2628777051

If there is enough interest, or other feedback/requests, the MCERD -side tutorial/webinar will follow later.

Please inform others, colleagues, students also about the event/link, who would also be potential users of the ToF-ERD analysis software Potku.

Best regards from Jyväskylä,

    Mikko.

Please see also the reminder of the latest version below.

Subject: [POTKU] New Potku versions for Windows and Mac

Dear Potku users,

>From the Potku www pages:
https://www.jyu.fi/science/en/physics/research/infrastructures/accelerator-laboratory/pelletron/potku
one can find the new versions for Win and Mac:
https://www.jyu.fi/science/en/physics/research/infrastructures/accelerator-laboratory/pelletron/potku/release_versions

Sample specific settings (tick in the grey box, for each sample settings in the upper right corner menu) took long time to get back to work properly, but should now work if applied and parameters are changed or efficiencies added for specific sample (eg. different energy or tilt angle compared to (global) "request settings"). Reason for the broken code was back-end and front-end separation/refactoring, which has took place during the spring and summer this year. (this is needed when we are aiming for the www-browser/server based version of the "Potku 3.0")

This issue (sample specific settings) delayed the intended webinar/tutorial for the Potku slab analysis and MCERD but these will now realize during late January. Apologies for the delay.
Preliminary Tutorial/webinar time for Potku slab analysis side is now 2021 January 28th, 13:00-15:00 CET (14:00-16:00 Finnish, Helsinki time). Platform is Zoom. More info later.

Yet:
REMINDER 1: Efficiency files now (since summer2020 versions) work as: 1H.eff and 2H.eff are automatically used for isotopes of hydrogen BUT H.eff for the element hydrogen cut-file - and similarly for other elements and isotopes.
REMINDER 2: Oldest project files do not necessarily work with "load project" in newest Potku versions. Some variation exists depending of the Potku version the request was originally created, few years old versions do not load properly with the newest version. To get old analysis revisited, one needs to manually load the data and used settings (from potku.in file for example) to the new request.

Regards from Jyväskylä,

     Mikko.
